With Valentine’s Day rapidly approaching, let’s take some time to put more thought into gifting. Life is short, people are special. Let’s show them. While chocolate, teddy bears and flowers are cute…they are boring. Well, they can be. They are awesome when accompanied by a more thoughtful gift. I don’t know about you, but I’m always looking for new experiences, new things and new ways to impress my loved ones. 

Traditionally, Valentine’s Day is a day for romantic love. But, for many, it is also a day to celebrate every type of love; love between family members, friends, even love for pets. I’ve gotten my nephew a gift for Valentine’s Day every single year since he was born, and I plan to continue this tradition forever. I’ve also used this day to celebrate family, friends and even my little furry best friend.

This year, I decided to conduct a bit of research, to see what gifts I could get that are sweet and thoughtful, yet not typical. Here’s what I found:

1. The Adventure Challenge 

First on the list: the gift that keeps on giving. We all need a little adventure sometimes, and this gift ensures you get just that. The Adventure Challenge is a mystery scratch-off book with 50 adventures (should last a while). They have couples, family, friends and solo adventure books, so this gift is perfect whether it’s for your lover or loved one.

2. 5 Senses Gifts

This one is my favorite. Five gifts in one, one for each of the five senses. The absolute best part is that these gifts fit any budget. They can be as cheap or expensive as you want. Either way, there are five gifts. And presentation is everything, so put your gifts in nice separate bags or boxes with nice wrapping paper and it’s sure to be a hit. This is one very special to me, because I cannot live without music. I do everything with music. This gift would mean more to me than many other more expensive things lol. If your lover or loved one is a music enthusiast, this is a perfect gift. You can add your couple song or their absolute favorite song to a key chain, plague, night light or necklace. 

4. Personal Concrete Fireplace

Imagine you’re at your friend’s house watching the newest Netflix release and they randomly pull out a beautiful, personal fireplace and start making the most perfectly toasted, gooey s’mores. Idk, I would be really impressed….and jealous. Because nothing is better than random, homemade s’mores. And not only do we have s’mores, there’s a cool-looking fireplace?? Sign me up.

5. Kodak Bluetooth Photo Printer 

In a world where everything has gone digital, give your loved one the opportunity to print those special moments directly from their phones. I love pictures and always mean to print them out...but I never do. This is a convenient alternative.

6. Reel Viewer

This one is super nostalgic and cute. It’s a childhood classic from the 90s, but now you can upload photos of you and your loved ones favorite moments, and let them look into the viewer and re-live each moment all over again. It’s a very sweet gift for anyone, but if your loved one is very sentimental, this is the way to go!
